feel very fortunate in that my diverse background has lead me to the counseling field! I am a huge proponent that, like life, healing is a journey and I want to be a part of your journey, whatever that may be. You are the expert in your own life, but together we can collaboratively fine tune and improve aspects of your life you may be struggling with. I believe relationships are the key to nourishing a healthier and happier lifestyle and I make it a priority to give clients unconditional positive regard. It is my goal to empower clients to be their best, authentic selves.
I am a psychotherapist at Austin Family Counseling and have extensive background in working with parents and their loved ones (ages 10 and up). I am Positive Discipline trained and love incorporating parent- child interactive therapy into my parenting psychoeducation. I strive to allow families to flourish and go beyond parenting to repair and strengthen parents’ relationships with their kids. Successful relationships incorporate mutual respect and fun. I utilize a number of techniques from my Gottman level 1 training to bond parents for better co-parenting as well and mend parent- child relationships.
The very first thing I want parents to understand is parenting is hard! Unfortunately, our loved ones do not come with a manual, but it is my goal that our work together will alleviate some of the stress and frustrations that coincide with parenting. I love working with parents in helping them find ways in which they can slow down and enjoy their time with their loved ones. So often we are rushed from school to extra-curriculars to other obligations; I love to work with families in prioritizing their own routine and finding a balance between work and play. Together we can reach your individual goals and allow you to feel successful as a parent.
